Printing The NYT Costs Twice As Much As Sending Every Subscriber A Free Kindle

"It costs the Times about twice as much money to print and deliver the newspaper over a year as it would cost to send each of its subscribers a brand new Amazon Kindle instead."Technology for delivering the newsprint isn't just expensive and inefficient; it's funny. The times is so under what they are suppose to be they have a lot of debt to cover!

There not saying everyone should be subscribers on the kindle because that would kill the revenue and also because not everyone likes the kindle. But this article is letting people know how much money they could be saving by doing this other method. The New York Times has been in trouble for a while with there money situation and something needs to be done about it. They can't keep up with it if they keep loosing money every time they print and sell!

Do not! Drink and Drive!

Drunk driving has been a serious issue throughout the whole world! We have tried so many things to prevent this and it still goes on everyday. There should be more harsh penalties on this offense and maybe people will eventually stop. It seems like everyday you see on the news of someone, or a celebrity caught for drunk driving. It has become some what acceptable and this can not be allowed!

One way to try stop drunk driving is to restrict young drivers from driving during the night time, or put something on a person's license if they had been caught for a DUI/ or DWI. There are many more ways to try and lessen this problem a little but still, that wouldn't be enough. So many horrible tragedies have occurred because of stupid people getting behind the wheel Drunk! I feel the only way to get it through peoples heads is to make severe! consequences for drinking and driving. click here

Network news VS The daily show

The daily show and the network news are very different from each other. YES! they might talk about the same issues but the daily show is much more brief then the network news. You can learn much more into detail about something watching the network news than the daily show. But!,the daily show is very funny and brings a much larger, younger audience. More people probably watch the daily show more than the network news, but at least watching some type of news is better then none.

I never really watch the network news that much but I watch the daily show all the time. It's better to watch the daily show and get some news than no news at all. John Stewart gets the point across in a funny way and it is very entertaining to watch. It not boring like the network news. It is some what of an issue that more people watch the daily show than the network news, but it is how our society is today. Any way you can get information about the news weather it is the local news or John Stewart, GET THAT INFORMATION!

Local News at 5!

The local news at 5 shows a variety of political and non-political issues. It discuses recent sport issues, illnesses like the swine flu, up coming weather, and some political issues. I feel that the local news talks about what the people want too here most about. If there is a recent political issue or a recent big time sports deal, I feel they will announce the sports deal first. For example I went on my local news channel, and the first thing they talked about was the weather.


There are political issues discussed but the local news at 5 talks about issues that the people want to hear most about. This local news channels focus on the entertainment side, then the political side. This is not a good thing because politics are the most important news we can here about. There could be something really bad that happened to our government but more people would know about the local first round draft pick for the Oakland A's. I feel there should be more political issues disused on our local news because I didn't see that much on mine.

Brush your teeth kids!!

This blog talks shortly about how you can do certain things to make dental Hygiene easier for children. I chose this blog because personally I have an obsession with teeth and taking care of them is very important to me. This blogs quality is short but sweet. It doesn't go into to much detal but it gets the point across. Dental hygiene for children can sometimes be difficult and frustrating. Children complain about brushing their teeth and they have a lack of cooperation.

There are many ways to make this not as difficult on the parents such as buying a toothbrush that is fun and colorful. It was recommended to get a moving or vibrating toothbrush because it is less work for the children to do. Give your children fruity toothpaste and disposable dental floss is always a plus. Dental hygiene is important when you are young because it can save you a lot of money in your future. Dentist appointment's are not cheap in today's society. Keep an eye on your children and make sure they are on top of there dental hygiene.

Married and Single Parents Spending More Time With Children, Study Finds

This article talks about how "women still do twice as much housework and child care as men'' in two-parent families. They said the total hours of work between a mother and a father are equal! They said over time the father;s have picked up some of the slack when it comes time to spending time with there children. Mothers however, seem to be going down over the years when it comes to caring for their children.

I will cut them some slack because it is proven that they get less time to sleep or have free time. Over the past few years child care has been going down and this isn't good. Alot more women are working now then they did in the past, so obviously the hours are going to go lower but hopefully not to much lower. Child care is more important than employment.

A rediculous show!

On the show "The girls Next Door" I feel that this has a strong negative effect on girls in our society. The girls shown in this show are viewed as pretty much the perfect girl. They have ridiculous body shapes and they are like how ever guy would want a girl. Young girls look at these women on this show and try to be like them because they are on T.V., and they want attention like the girls in this show. I feel that alot of younger girls look up to these beautiful women and its not a good thing because they are playboy bunnies lol. These girls get naked, and act dumb on T.V for entertainment purposes.

In reality! most girls do not look even close as good as these girls look. Personally I would never want my daughter watching this show becuase I do not want her to get any slutty ideas from these women. I don't think the show should be cancelled because money runs the world and if people are entertained by this show it is making money, and it should go on. I just feel that parents need to keep an eye on there children and make sure they don't watch shows like this becuase you don't get any good from these shows. They bring nothing but negativity towards girls in today's real society!

Kevin Barrett fasle!! 9/11 theories

An episode I watched from the "Hannity and Colmes" show talked about a Professor from The University of Wisconsin named Kevin Barrett who believed 9/11 was an inside job. He teaches a class that discusses and talks about conspiracy theories about 9/11. Personally I do not agree with him teachs these classes becuase he can be totaly wrong about it and just put dumb, false ideas and to students heads.

Barrett says that"the audeience gets better critical thinking skills from this class". He is right saying that but I don't agree teaching a college class on consiracy theories of a saveer tragety that happend in our country. You can tell when watching this that Hannity and Colmes totally disagree with him and don't believe any of these bizare theories on 9/11. I agree with them as well becuase I feel that these theories are all not true. click here to view aarguement

THE Rush!! on Illegal Immigration

Rush Limbaugh talks about Illegal immigration in a very angry/serious manner. He seemed really pissed off at these people and stated what he thought about these people living in our country. It was interesting when he was stating his opinions on these illegal immigrants. He said that they must speak the native language and they have no right what so ever to vote. I agree with him on this because, they are not true USA citizens.

They have no right for political gatherings or cannot badmouth our president or government because they are not truly a part of America. I agree with Rush on Illegal immigration because number one, it is against the law, and number two, there are immigrants taking advantage of our country when they do not belong. The quality of this post was really strong and it had a effect on me because he talked about it with much confidence and anger towards these people.

Capturing rain water

This blog talks about how we can alleviate water problems or droughts. This water capturing system can be very easy. One of the easiest ways to capture rain water runoff from your roof. I really agree with this post because it is a very easy, simple way to conserve water and not have to worry about any water shortages.

Think about the families in Mexico or any where else that they need water badly. Think as it like you are doing a good environmental thing and saving lives! After reviewing this passage I definitely am going to look into getting one of these water capturing systems for myself. It safe, easy, and makes the world a better place. I feel many people should have these systems and I have never seen one in my life. Lets be good environmental citizens and help save the water!

This talks about how this world is really not an easy place to live in. Many people work hard jobs just to make ends meet. In this blog is discuses how people can become very ill or sick because of their jobs. For example working in construction sites, and industrial factories provide harmful substances that the workers breath in every day. Disease and illnesses are caused because of these harmful substances getting inhaled and spread around. These workers who are just trying to make a living should not have to worry about dieing or getting real sick at work! It's already not fun enough for them.

The ladies brother in this article was hospitalized because of thinking to much for other people at his job. It sounds ridiculous! but his brain was swelled up from thinking to much and they thought it might be a tumor. I'm agreeing with this article because people out there need to realize how hard it really is to make a living in this world. The witter of this feminist blog just wants to let people no how hard life can be. I am not looking foward to after college and actually having to get a real job. haha

Trace Adkins

My favorite music video clip on you tube is a song by Trace Adkins called "Marry for Money". It is really funny because it starts off with him being broke and poor becuase he wife took all of this money and left him. In the video it shows him with a old rich lady that gives him money whenever he wants and he cheats on her and does a bunch of other funny things.

My Favorite line in the song is " I don't care if she loves me, she can be even real ugly, I'm gonna marry for money". He is one of my favorite country artist but this video by far has me cracking up the most. You have to watch it yourself do understand how funny it is. This movie portrays the conflict between television journalism and veteran radio. George Clooney is the main character in this video. This video was originally made in color but after reviews they changed it into just black and white. David Strathairn Starred as the famous Icon broadcaster named Edward .R. Murrow.

Good night and good luck was the phrase Murrow would use every time he signed off. THis movie is about t.v and radio stations competing agianst eachother fighting over sponsors and regulations. Personally I wouldn't reeally be that interested in it but George Clooney, being the stud he is, brought an audience to watch what really went on during this time.

Endangered Fish

Steelhead trout are found in most California rivers. Since the 1950s the Steelhead Trout population has declined about 90 percent. 23 Steelhead runs have been completely wiped out because of logging or road construction. This destroys there homes and there breeding streams. The Steelhead's habitat is continually being destroyed by humans. We have to to start changing our ways if we want too continue to see these fish. This is messed up that we are destroying these endangered species homes along with many others such as the whale shark, and the Chinook salmon.

The whale shark is the biggest shark/fish in the ocean today. It can be up to 40 feet or more in length and they are endangered because of over fishing. We need to relax with the fishing and think about these beautiful creatures being extinct. They are the biggest recorded fish in the world today and we aren't doing anything to help preserve them. The Chinook salmon are dealing with the same problem as the steelhead trout. There homes being destroyed and soon one day when there spawning season is up, there will be nothing there. unless we drastically change our views about our aquatic counterparts, many species will soon be extinct click here

Wood bat vs. aluminum bat

Ever since the introduction of the aluminum bat in the 1970's, they have dominated the adult youth and amateur baseball and softball markets. Its no question that a ball comes off an aluminum bat harder then a wooden bat, but are using these bats true baseball? I am a baseball player myself and people have various opinions on this matter. I feel that it does make the game a lot easier and more interesting because its much easier to hit a ball with an aluminum bat then a wooden bat. I think that aluminum bats should be used through all high school and youth baseball leagues. It is much easier and less dangerous to the other players.If you feel otherwise please write a post explaining why, I am interested in other opinions.

In college leagues whether it is division 1, 2 or 3 I feel wooden bats should be mandatory. If you made it this far with baseball you should be able to use a wooden bat correctly. A few differences with a wooden bat is the sweet spot is smaller, you can break it, the ball doesn't go that far, and they are usually heavier than aluminum. If we made it to this stage in baseball we should all be experienced enough to use a wooden bat. I'm just throwing my opinion out there that I feel all youth leagues, and high school leagues should use aluminum because they are rookies and beginners with baseball. All college leagues no matter what division should use wood becuase we have the experience and the next league up(the minor leagues) requires wood.This has been an issue for a while and I feel that something needs to be done about it.

Ocean Pollution

A big issue that really bothers me is how big industries and people pollute our oceans. Factories and industries have been dumping to much toxins and chemicals into the ocean. This effects the marine life greatly in many negative aspects and eventually can be very harmful towards us, humans. There has been a long history of ocean pollution but I think its time that we really need to keep an eye on the amount of waste these industries are dumping in the ocean.

We the people can prevent pollution in many ways such as, make sure fertilizers, and oils don't run of into drains near by. Sewage and toxic chemicals should be cleaned up with a towel or rag instead of watered down and letting it run into the drain pipes. It is the simple things that can really help our environment. Don't litter and clean up your mess.
